Underwater
There’s a difference between
a house that was built underwater
and a house that has gone under water,
One is a mystery
one is ignored.
one is in Atlantis,
and you’ll read books to your children about.
one is in Puerto Rico,
and you don’t want to talk about.
when the roses bloom more than once,
when sun burns the ocean breeze in the bay,
when floods wash away the childhood memories,
we don’t want to accept the earth is bleeding,
sitting in our air conditioned comfortable rooms ,
in the big cities.
How close do the flames has to reach,
How high the water has to go,
for us the stop the endless buying and burning,
and to work together,
to stop the end.
