Walt Whitman
O You Whom I Often and Silently Come

O YOU whom I often and silently come where you are, that I may be with you;
As I walk by your side, or sit near, or remain in the same room with you,
Little you know the subtle electric fire that for your sake is playing within me.

Oh dear you! oh Uncle Walt, something has made my voice tender in the past few days..I heard in a bar someone saying the reason they are trying to date is to not die alone.. and I had the urge to tell them that we all die alone no matter how many people we have in our lives. You may have people around you when you are dying, but when the death comes, it will only come for you. Then I shared these bar talk with a friend and she said “You should have told her that she does not want to live alone”. aha! I thought, one word.. and one word changes the perspective, changes the search, changes the reason for wanting! Yes to that! because that changes the type of people we gather around us to! I want people who I want to be with now, not people who will be there when I am not there! Live and Love while you can.. and don’t worry for after death! Not worrying is the privilege we are going to obtain with death, don’t miss that!
